United Artists Project presents
FIONA KENNEDY-ALTOFT  “Dinner’s Ready”

Opening Event is Thursday 12th September

5.30pm to 7.30pm
continues throughout September 2024

Hope St Cafe - Gallery
15 Hope Street South Brisbane

Fiona’s body of work featured in “Dinner’s Ready” explores the deep connections between memory, place and identity. Through a blend of abstract forms, portraiture, and collage, each piece reflects a journey of artistic evolution. Drawing inspiration from the colours and materials of a childhood spent in Roma and the vibrant energy of Hong Kong, the works in this exhibition reveal the intricate layers of experience and emotion. “Dinner’s Ready” is a celebration of how different elements — past and present, abstract and figurative — come together to create a cohesive narrative.

Tiki Tsang
"Human Condition; Beautiful Psyche"

Artist’s Statement

Tiki Tsang's artwork explores the ethereal and surreal. Fascinated by what it means to be human and how individuals navigate existence with varying degrees of success, Tiki delves into the profound aspects of life. The eyes, in Tiki's view, reveal the mystery, uncertainty, and fragility of fleeting lives and the passing moments that become memories. This mystery remains an enduring source of magic and wonder for Tiki.

“This collection of paintings represents my artistic journey over the past year.  Something that started out as art therapy, doing a Diploma of Visual Arts, quickly rekindled my passion for art and creating, and has healed my soul.” Tiki Tsang

“ When I go out and do photography, I get lost in the flowers and reflections. It is amazing how it makes you feel. You are in the moment. All other things that have been happening in my life are transformed with the beauty of the flowers and reflections. I feel I am transfixed in the moment. I go back time after time and it is fresh every time. This exhibition is dedicated to my husband and son, David and Dave.”

Touching Paint
April 2024

Official opening on Thursday 11th April 5-7pm.
Hope Street Cafe Gallery, 15 Hope street South Brisbane.

Touching paint, every day, is a powerful way for me to check in with myself. Whether I'm lost in thought or tangling with materials, there's something incredibly grounding about it. Amid the chaos of life, I find a sense of peace and a reminder of the beauty in simply being.
It’s letting go of expectation and perfection, and giving myself permission to get messy, and enjoy the process. Allowing myself to play, experiment, and discover new ways of making my mark.
This exhibition is a selection of works that came out of this daily practice.

Official opening on Thursday 14th March 5-7pm.

Art has always been a fundamental part of my life. My practice explores kaleidoscopic environments and befriends their surreal inhabitants through an array of mediums and techniques.

I infuse hyperfeminine imagery with explosions of colour, patterns, drips, and dots, strongly influenced by the work of Del Katherine Barton. Additionally, my strong sense of personal style, reflected in my makeup and attire, extends my artmaking practice, infusing everyday life with playfulness and creativity.

Despite challenges with fine motor skills due to an essential tremor, I persist in my artmaking, adapting techniques to my trembling hands.

Showcasing a selection of their latest work throughout the month of March, 2024.
Official opening on Thursday 14th March 5-7pm.
